LightBox Expo: The LAMP

Welcome, wanderer! I’m eager to be your guide into the world, that I created specially for the LightBox Expo: Box of Mystery Challenge! Idea of twisting all around a LAMP came to me nearly immediately after I had read the theme and briefing of that challenge. Because cunning Genies fulfill wishes, and we know, how precise we should be, formulating our words…Or it may turn a real surprise in the end. A real Box of Mystery it is. So I decided to fantasize around this theme: how Lamp functions, what contains inside, how genies lived and who they were? Nobody was in the Lamp and I’m happy to welcome you inside!

During my work I was greatly inspired by Luc Besson, Ridley Scott, Roland Emmerich and Jean-Paul Gaultier. I tried to mix futuristic designs, Ar Deco, and cultural heritage of ancient Egypt. I wanted to achieve a mystique atmosphere, as if you entered some ancient tomb and encountered a strange device, that feels out of our world.
